Very pleased to invite you to a special and lovely half-day with talking about the Pico island, its inhabitants, customs and history during the leisurely tours one of the most beautiful places on the planet, with a tasty picnic on black lava in Pico National Park and tasting red wine and cheese.

The Landscape of the Pico Island Vineyard Culture is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. In the classified area, you can see various walls that run parallel and perpendicular to the coastline. Vineyards are planted in black lava grounds.

This trail begins at Porto do Calhau and it ends at Areia Larga.

At the start it follows the coastline for about 1 km, until it reaches a small hill. Then at the next crossroads, go between the vines until the windmill that is signposted, a viewpoint from which we get a wide view of the vineyards.
We also get a good view of the small islands from this trail, the “standing and horizontal” islands as they are called, or the islands of Madalena.
We continue closely in the vineyard area. When we leave this area behind we will be close to the sea once again and the trail goes on until it ends in Areia Larga.
Along the way, whenever the signs appear, we look for the tracks of carts that used to carry barrels of wine.

Our trip will go ahead to nice and quite place where we enjoy tasty lunch with tasting of wine and cheese.

Ater picnic and short brake we slowly move to port Madalena.
